For many years, the flashing WSAV sign was a breakthrough on the street. For quite a long time, WSAV-AM had run an NBC Radio production. This is the reason that WSAV News took the association with NBC. NBC 3 WSAV shared ABC with CBS associate WTOC-TV. This kept on going till in 1970, WJCL-TV began its production. There onwards it became a full-time ABC channel. By the end of the 1950s, the station was also associated with the NTA Film Network for a short period of time.
It was placed at the transmitting tower facility on Oatland Island. Nevertheless, due to lack of listeners to the simulcast production, in the 1950s, the FM operation was terminated. In 1960, WSAV News shifted into a brand new facility on Victory Drive. This is the same place where WSAV-TV still is situated today. A new tower was built at the site. This improved its signal to many of the surrounding counties in Georgia and South Carolina. In 1976, the present tower near Pooler was built.
