WCNC 36 NBC NewsInitially, WCNC 36 NBC Charlotte was a low cut private channel on the air. It broadcasted for about seven hours a day from 5 p.m. and till midnight. In earlier days, the channel had very updated equipment and it telecasted few shows and movies in color. It also had proper operating facilities. The WCNC NBC faced a difficult time financially and was placed for auction in 1969. WCNC was later sold to Ted Turner in 1970. He remarkably developed and updated the channels operating environment. Ted Turner made it beneficial. In 1999, the station’s main office was registered in the five-part PBS documentary series regional News. WCNC NBC currently airs 38 hours of the regionally developed news bulletin every week. In the extension of that, the channel presents the hour-long entertainment and lifestyle program Charlotte Today. This is broadcasted every weekday morning at 11:00 a.m.

WCNC 36 NBC started telecasting its regional update on May 18, 2009. It was broadcasted in 16:9 large screen with fine resolution. Along with this alternation came the remolding of the channel’s on-air news visuals. ABC WSOC 9 News Charlotte upgraded to full high resolution on June 28, 2014. The NBC channel “WCNC” alternated to the standard Gannett graphics/music which came a month later.
