On March 13, 1988, KWKT news made its first appearance on the television. It had been associated with Fox from the time of its debut. It was because of interloping issues faced by UHF channels that were running the channel in the rocky landscape. Due to this reason, Comcorp bought KYLE-TV (channel 28) in Bryan. During this time a WB associate changed it to a satellite channel.
