The new tower was to be constructed in order to transmit the signals of KCRA, KXTV, and KOVR. In 1961, the construction was completed. In 1960, co-founder of NBC KCRA, Ewing C. Kelly died. After his death, his son, Bob Kelly became president of KCRA, Inc., He was the manager at KCRA station, commercial manager and film buyer at that time.
